My Favorite Restaurants

Many of you have inquired about restaurants that I dine at. Although I mainly eat home-prepared meals, I do enjoy eating out with my family as well. Here is a list of some of the restaurants that we like very much:

Urth Caffé

Urth Cafe has many locations.  I have been to all of them and I enjoy every single location.  I love their food, it is very fresh, healthy and palatable.

Address : 12345 Ventura Blvd. Studio City, CA 91604

Tel: (818) 506-7400

True Food Kitchen

True Food Kitchen in Newport Beach is a great place for lunch and dinner. I did not like their breakfast portions for the price. They have another location in Santa Monica, but I prefer the Newport Beach one. I thrive even when reading their menu! I love their organic salads, their fresh drinks, and the relaxing atmosphere.

Address : 451 Newport Center Dr Newport Beach, CA 92660

Tel: (949) 644-2400

Aroma Café

Aroma Café in Studio City is a lovely little getaway. Unfortunately their cute bookstore has been replaced with more sitting area.  I love the vibe, whenever I am there.

Address: 4360 Tujunga Ave Studio City, CA 91604

Tel: (818) 508-0677

Veggie Grill

Veggie Grill is fantastic for lunch/dinner! Their menu is 100% plant based with no meat, dairy, eggs, cholesterol, animal fat or trans fat. Their steamed kale is delicious and my daughters love the Bali Bliss and Papa’s Portobello burgers. They have a lot of different locations; please Google them.

Hugo’s Restaurant

Hugo’s Restaurant also has healthy options and has vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. They have 3 locations: Agoura Hills, West Hollywood and Studio City. We like their breakfasts.

Kreation Kafe

Kreation Kafe is nice for meals, especially breakfast, and adds a Mediterranean twist to some of their dishes. The restaurant is close to the ocean and has a great juice bar inside as well. They have a second location on Abbot Kinney in Venice.

Address: 1023 Montana Ave Santa Monica, CA 90403

Tel: (310) 458-4880

Pacific Whey Café

Pacific Whey Café on Pacific Coast Highway in Newport is a nice place for breakfast, especially when the weather is warm. They have a patio area for you to enjoy the great ocean breeze while eating.

Address: 7962 East Coast Highway Newport Coast, CA 92657

Pedaler’s Fork

Pedaler’s Fork in Calabasas is beautiful. The indoor/outdoor restaurant has a rustic feel to it, along with a coffee shop and bike shop in the back too! The food is fantastic and very healthy. Great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My daughter loves their breakfast Johnny Cakes.

Samosa House and Bharat Bazaar

Samosa House and Bharat Bazaar is a small, humble Indian restaurant inside of a bazaar market. Excellent Indian food at a great price. My family’s favorite is the Jackfruit dish and the garlic naan. Really great and 100% vegetarian!

Address: 11510 W Washington Blvd. Culver City, CA 90066

Industriel Urban Farm Cuisine

Industriel Urban Farm Cuisine is in downtown LA. The décor is really impressive and the food is good too, although some dishes are a too salty for my liking. All their produce is bought fresh daily from the local farmer’s market. Look for their “hanging honeybear” art piece—really fun and clever!

Feed Body and Soul

Feed Body and Soul is a modern restaurant in Venice with a very healthy menu comprised of fresh, seasonal, sustainable, and organic produce and proteins. Great for lunch and dinner. Their protein/grain bowls are delicious and nutrient rich.

Gjelina

Gjelina is another restaurant in Venice that my family and I like. The crowd is modern and hip and the food is great too. It has a cool vibe and the street, Abbot Kinney, is great for strolling after your meal!

Lemonade

Lemonade is a fun salad-bar with a huge variety of healthy salads and proteins. They have many locations, please Google them.

Boathouse in Santa Barbara

I really loved this restaurant on the beach. Even though we waited half an hour to be seated, every minute was worth waiting for. I enjoyed the feeling of sun rays on my face and watching and listening to the ocean waves with my husband. When I am not at a gluten free or organic restaurant, I still choose my food very carefully. I decided to order a salad here and it was delicious. I even splurged and had a margarita, which I rarely ever order! We Facetimed our daughters while we were there and they encouraged us to drink more and let loose. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

Café Gratitude

What can I say about this café? It’s one of my favorites—excellent food, great atmosphere. I love their raw pastries and organic juices. It’s a ‘must’ to try everything on their menu.

Hinoki and the Bird

My older daughter surprised me one day with my first experience at this restaurant. I enjoyed my time there so much. The atmosphere is fabulous and high-end, and the food is fantastic, but a bit pricey and with smaller portion sizes. I love the servers; they’re youthful and fun.The second time I dined there, I surprised my husband; we had a great time.I will always cherish these memories trying out new and different restaurants with my precious daughters and my loving husband.

Address: 10 W Century Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90067

Suncafe Organic Restaurant

This restaurant is closer in proximity to Glendale. It was great food and a nice outdoor sitting area.

Address: 10820 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604
Tel: (818) 308-7420

Alfred Coffee

I went here for the first time with my older daughter. Then came with my husband. Then with my younger daughter. Then with my mom and older daughter. Then with a friend. Then with my younger daughter again. I just keep going here! I don’t really like their coffee or pastries to be honest, and it tends to get overcrowded, but I love the vibe.

This shop reminds me of times I spent eating out in New York with my daughter, who lives there now. The street that it is located on is also very beautiful with lots of vines crawling up walls; it reminds me of Paris too.
